Raiziss/de Palchi Translation Awards
Established in
1995, this award recognizes outstanding translations into English of
modern Italian poetry through a $10,000 book prize and a $25,000
fellowship, given in alternating years. The fellowship
is given to enable an American translator to travel, study, or
otherwise advance a significant work-in-progress. The winner of the
fellowship also receives a residency at the American Academy in Rome.
Submissions for the fellowship are accepted in even-numbered years from
September 1 to January 31, and an entry form is required. To obtain the
guidelines and entry form for the fellowship, please follow the links
below or send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the Academy. In
odd-numbered years, submissions for the book prize are accepted from
September 1 to January 31. Publishers may submit translations published
anytime in the past (not necessarily in the year of the judging), but
only books by living translators are eligible. Self-published books are
not accepted. The decision of the judges is expected the following
March.

Welcome statement
Tradurre has a great record of publishing interesting material and our stated mission is to build upon that tradition to bring you compelling articles and comments on language and translation, news about conferences and events that might be of interest for our profession, and maybe a bit of fun too!
But of course we need and welcome your cooperation to keep this page alive and active.
Contributions in Italian and in English are equally appreciated.
