ITALIAN LANGUAGE DIVISION (ILD) 2012 ELECTION CANDIDATES

The Nominating Committee of the Italian Language Division is pleased to announce that the following Division members have been nominated as candidates in the upcoming election of officers:

Administrator: Francesca Marchei
Assistant Administrator: Roberto Crivello

CANDIDATE FOR ADMINISTRATOR
Ms. Francesca Marchei

As a member of the ATA since 1999, I have been involved in the ILD activities since its inception acting as newsletter co-editor and Assistant Administrator, and then as Administrator for the past two years.

Since taking office in 2010, I have worked with Assistant Administrator Roberto Crivello to enhance the Division's activities and get a larger part of our membership involved. We have concentrated our efforts on the Annual Conference, and after bringing Tim Parks to Boston as our Distinguished Speaker in 2011, this year we are going to have two prominent DDS in San Diego, journalist and writer Beppe Severgnini, and translator Giles Watson.

With the help of the Leadership Council members, we have replaced our newsletter with a blog (tradurreild.blogspot.com) and created an ILD Facebook page, and are currently in the process of launching our updated division website. Plans are underway for a social event to be held in San Diego.

Our priorities for the future include further enhancement of our communication strategies to promote knowledge and information sharing among Division members, as well as a continuation of our efforts to offer a compelling Italian lineup at the Annual Conference.

I would be happy to serve for another two-year term. Thank you for considering my candidacy for this role.


CANDIDATE FOR ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR
Mr. Roberto Crivello

Since 2010 I have supported the Administrator, Francesca Marchei, who has been doing an outstanding job, to enhance the Division's activities and get a larger part of our membership involved. ELECTION PROCEDURE

If no further candidates are received, then this is an uncontested election and officers will be
declared by acclamation at the Italian Language Division's annual meeting during ATA's 53rd
Annual Conference (October 24-27, 2012 in San Diego, California)
