Literary Translation Centre at the London Book Fair, 11-13 April

The London Book Fair provides an international marketplace for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels. Taking place every spring, the London Book Fair offers the opportunity to explore and understand innovations in the world of publishing. Of special interest to translators is the Literary Translation Centre, which provides a hub for translators offering a place to network and gain further information on their profession as well as giving publishers a focused place to meet with translators in the languages they need.

Translators will be able to attend seminars on a variety of related issues including help for translators to advance their skills and develop their networks. From Monday, April 11, to Wednesday April 13, 2011, a number of events focusing on translation will take place, including ‘Tablet & Pen: Literary Landscapes from the Modern Middle East’, ‘iTranslate: How Digital Publishing May Change Translation’, ‘In from the Cold: Does Russian Poetry Translate?’, ‘Children’s Books in Translation: So What’s the Problem?’ and more.
